On Thursday, the Broome County Legislature voted with 13 members in favor of giving naming rights to Visions Federal Credit Union. This comes after Maine’s Paper & Food’s Contract expired in June. Vision’s President and CEO Ty Muse says Broome County is home. Broome County officials say the fee will double if the county is successful in securing funding for and completing a “significant” renovation for the area that will cost more $20 million. “Partnering with the County and Mirabito furthers our investment in the community, and it’s even better knowing that we’ll have a part in drawing more people to the area,” he says. “Whether they’re here for LUMA, hockey, or even a concert, they can experience all the great things that the Binghamton area has going for it.” BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The Floyd L. Maines arena will be renamed the “Visions Federal Credit Union Veterans Memorial Arena.” The deal will be commenced on Jan. 1, 2021 and the name will run for 10 years but could be extended for five more years. Broome County will receive $60,000 per year during this time. Visions has teamed up Mirabito convenience stores to create a reserve account dedicated to increasing the number of live events at the arena and forum theater. Mirabito was announced to be the new sponsor of the box offices at the arena. Mirabito CEO Joe Mirabito called the partnership exciting. “By working together, we will be able to better support the Arena and its efforts to enhance the quality of life in our community,” he said.

Asante Kotoko head coach, Maxwell Konadu, has thrown a word of caution to defender, Ampem DaCosta, over his output in defence and wants the player to perform better.Dacosta joined the team from Karela in July 2019 on a three-year deal and has been regular in the team’s matches. However, he did not score the best of marks in Maxwell Konadu’s books in their 1-0 to Berekum Chelsea in Week 3 of the Ghana Premier League and Konadu believes that that the player needs to sharped certain rough edges to his game if he will make great strides in his career.“I think some players like Dacosta have developed certain ways of playing that are not good for modern day soccer. If you have defenders who go down too easily, then we need to start thinking about these things. If he had stood his ground and stayed on his feet, maybe the goal scored by Berekum Chelsea would not have been registered. We have corrected Dacosta and he has seen it and he has to work on it we have said it over and over again. He did not play a bad game.He did his best but these are the things he has to work on it or else, he will get punished for it.”Costly day for AmpemDacosta’s errors in play were not the only ways he influenced proceedings on the day.He was at the centre of fan fury that sparked violent scenes at the Baba Yara Stadium after the match.Referee Charles Bulu’s decision to send him off got the fans upset because they felt Dacosta was the wrong player to have been booked by the referee following an off-the-ball incident. It was the spillover of their displeasure that led to the massing up after the game and thus, the shooting of the fan at the Baba Yara Stadium. However, it turns out that referee Bulu got the decision right and that was corrobrated by Berekum Chelsea coach, Joseph Asare Bediako, who said after the match that he saw the incident and the referee had booked the right offender.
Two first-half goals by Olivier Giroud were more than enough to see Arsenal beat Middlesbrough at the Emirates Stadium and progress to the last eight in the FA Cup. Boro never looked like pulling off a shock in north LondonTwo left-footed finishes on the half-turn in quick succession from Giroud during the first period ensured that the Championship’s second-placed club would not pose the Gunners any great problems.Arsenal largely controlled matters in the second half at the Emirates Stadium but were unable to add to their lead, before Boro’s Kike hit the woodwork with a header very late on.The Gunners dominated from the off, threatening the Middlesbrough target relentlessly. The hosts eventually moved ahead when, at the conclusion to a fine move, Santi Cazorla played a pass left to Kieran Gibbs, who centred low for Giroud to force a finish past Tomas Mejias with 27 minutes on the clock. The visiting goalkeeper had almost kept out the Frenchman’s effort from six yards but was given no chance two minutes later, as Giroud powerfully met Alexis Sanchez’s delivery at the near post while Boro’s defenders bemoaned the award of the corner kick. Sanchez almost made it three, chasing and getting a touch to Mesut Ozil’s through-ball. Mejias managed an important contact, allowing Adam Clayton to clear the danger. The Gunners were comfortable in the second period, going extremely close to adding to their lead when Mejias made a fantastic save to keep out Sanchez’s flicked header from an in-swinging Cazorla free-kick.Middlesbrough tentatively threatened one occasion, but Arsenal looked far more likely to net the next goal, with only less-than-clinical play in the final third keeping the visiting side in the clash. At the death – it would have been too late to facilitate the realistic possibility of a replay – Boro came within inches of scoring, as Kike headed Grant Leadbitter’s floated cross off a post.As it was, Arsenal secured what was a well-deserved two-goal triumph.

ARCADIA, Calif. (March 12, 2017)–With a couple of confident looks back, veteran Corey Nakatani stepped on the gas heading into the far turn and went on to a convincing 1 ¾ length win aboard Goodyearforroses in Sunday’s Grade II, $200,000 Santa Ana Stakes for older fillies and mares. Trained by Richard Baltas, the 5-year-old Irish-bred mare got a mile and one eighth on grass in 1:47.98 as she took her third consecutive stakes race of the Winter Meet.A measured fourth, about two lengths off of pacesetter Kenriya three furlongs from home, Goodyearforroses made an eye catching move around the turn, swung three-wide turning for home and aside from a couple back-handed reminders, was hand-ridden to victory.A winner of both the Robert J. Frankel Stakes on Dec. 31 and the Astra II Stakes on Feb. 2, Goodyearforroses was off at even money in a field of eight and paid $4.00, $3.00 and $2.20.Transferred to Baltas following a third place finish in the Grade III Maple Leaf Stakes at Woodbine on Nov. 5, Goodyearforroses is unbeaten with her new connections.“She’s been aggressive from the time we got her and it’s nice to have a jock like Corey, who I don’t have to give any instructions to,” said Baltas. “She’s done everything right and she’s acted like a good horse. We’ve got some weight on her now and she’s all race horse.”When asked where she might run next, Baltas responded, “We might stay home and run in the Gamely (Grade I, 1 1/8 miles on turf, May 27).”Owned by Abbondanza Racing, LLC, who brought a large throng of racing enthusiasts to the Winner’s Circle, Goodyearforroses now has seven wins from 15 starts and with the winner’s share of $120,000, she increased her earnings to $365,995.“The sky’s the limit,” said Nakatani. “She’s doing unbelievable, as you can tell from the way she ran today. She tells us when she wants to run and she’s just such a good mare.”Ridden by Victor Espinoza, Argentine-bred Pretty Girl, who was last after six furlongs, proved second best, finishing 1 ½ lengths in front of Sweet Charity. Off at 7-1, Pretty Girl paid $7.20 and $3.80.With Flavien Prat up, Sweet Charity was off at 4-1 and paid $3.00 to show.Fractions on the race were 23.85, 48.90, 1:12.80 and 1:36.58.First post time for an eight-race card on Thursday is at 1 p.m. Admission gates open at 11 a.m. For scratches, changes and complete morning line information, please visit santaanita.com.

Chitika offers a closer look at the numbers to show that only 5% of iPhones are running the latest update of iOS 4, and a third of those still running iOS 3 are not running the latest version of it. While we expect that some of the iPhones running iOS 3 are doing so because iOS 4 would slow their phone down (as has been reported with the iPhone 3G), we also suspect that a percent of phones have not updated to keep their jailbreak intact. It would be interesting to see what happens to these numbers when a reliable way is found to jailbreak iOS 4 for the iPhone 3GS.
