Ball State University head basketball coach, James Whitford, shares my philosophy in recruiting. I noticed in an article from the Indianapolis Star that Ball State has the most Indiana recruits among the 10 Division I schools in Indiana. Two-thirds of their roster played basketball for an Indiana high school. This includes Sean Sellers of Greensburg. Whitford believes the best basketball players play in Indiana, so he says why go elsewhere to recruit? It irritates me when Indiana basketball players think they need to go to Michigan or Kentucky to play college basketball. I wonder how hard some of our Indiana colleges really recruit in the state? Do they think like so many people that someplace else is where the talent is? If you believe this, why do they keep saying the best high school basketball is played in Indiana?Way to go BSU!!
